  1.表示现在已不再有的过去的习惯性行为。如:

  He used not (or use(d)n t ) to do so often,used he/did he?

  He didn't use(d) to do so often.did he? (口语中)

  他以前不常这么做,对吗?

  Used you to play football? 一Yes,I used to/I did.

  Did you use(d) to play football? 一Yes.I did. (口语中)

  你以前踢足球吗?——踢 2.used to和woukl皆可表示过去的习惯性行为,但有区別:used to陈述的是事实,还有“现在已 不再如此”的内在含义,乱用于口语;而would则陈述的是说话者的主观看法,还有“反复多次”的含 义,且多用于文学语言。试对比:

  He used to make mistakes in spelling when he was young.

  他年轻时常常犯拼写错误。

  He would make mistakes in spelling when others hurried him.

  有人催时他就会犯拼写错误。

  (二)情态动词+ have ‘过去分同的用法

  除“ may(must.am) + have +过去分词”表示对过去的猜测外,还有其他类似的结构,主要包括: 1. “should/ought to + have +过去分词”表示过去应该做而没有做,意为“原本应该”,含有 责备之意。 而oughtn’t to/shouldrVt./needn’t + have +过去分词则表/K过去不该(或不必)做却做广某 事

  例:You should have got up earlier.

  You should have been here 5 minutes ago.

  1.“ might + have +过去分词”表示过去未实现而产生猜想,意为“原本可以”。 couldnH接have +过去分词表示过去即使做了某事也不可能做到。

  例:She couldn’t have done because she was very angry then.

  He might have given you more help,even if he was very busy.

  You might have made greater progress.

  2. "needn^t + have +过去分词”表示过去不必做而做T,译为“原本不必”,含有责备之意。

  例:There was enough time. He needn’t have hurried.

  You needn’t have waited for him for so long a time.

  3. “could + have +过去分词”意为“原本可能”。

  例:You could have been more careful.

  We could have arrived earlier.
